How to Set Up a Whitelist by Location?

Updated over 3 weeks ago

The Whitelist by Location feature in NoSpy allows you to grant access to your Shopify store based on a visitor's country. If you only want users from selected countries to view your store while blocking others, this is the perfect tool.

This feature is especially useful if you're launching in specific markets, want to prevent unauthorized access, or need to comply with region-specific business policies.

Here’s how to whitelist specific countries for access:

1. Go to your Shopify admin and click on the "Apps" option from the sidebar.

2. From the list of installed apps, click on “NoSpy – protect data.”

3. Once inside the NoSpy app, you’ll see the NoSpy main sidebar menu.

4. On the app sidebar menu, click on the “Redirects” option.

5. Next, you will see 2 tabs for "Redirects" and "Whitelist". Click the "Whitelist" tab.

6. On the options below, click on the “Whitelist location” tab to start setting up your whitelist.

7. You'll now see a setup form. Begin by adding a Condition Name – this is optional, but it helps you identify and organize your rule later.

8. In the next field, select the country or countries you want to allow access to your store. Users from these locations will be able to browse your store freely, even if other restrictions are active.

9. On the right-hand side, you’ll find helpful tools to finalize your setup:

  • Rule Status: Toggle this to Enable to activate the whitelist once it’s ready. Then click “Save.”

  • Rule Summary: This widget gives you a clear summary of your whitelist rule so you can verify the details.
