The Whitelist by Referrer URL feature in NoSpy gives you a simple way to bypass active redirect rules for specific countries — without needing to define a target or redirect URL.
This feature is especially useful when you’ve already applied a broad redirect (e.g., to all countries) but want to exclude certain visitors from being affected. For example, if you’ve set up a global redirect but want users from the USA to stay on the original page, this whitelist will allow that.
No custom destination is required — the whitelist simply disables the redirect for the selected countries.
To set it up, just follow the steps below:
1. From your Shopify admin, click on “Apps” in the left-hand menu.
2. At the top section, locate the dropdown menu that lists all your installed apps.
3. Select and click the “NoSpy – protect data” app.
4. After the app loads, the NoSpy sidebar menu will appear.
5. Click on the “Redirects” option from the sidebar.
6. On the Redirects page, switch over to the “Whitelist” tab.
7. On the next page, choose the option labeled “Referrer URL.”
8. You’ll be taken to a configuration panel where you can set up the whitelist rule.
9. Begin by entering a name for your whitelist rule in the “Redirect name (optional)” field. This helps you keep your rules organized, especially if you manage multiple ones.
11. Next, choose the country or countries that should be allowed access to these pages in the “Select Country” dropdown.
12. On the right side of the page, you’ll see 2 helpful widgets:
Rule Status: Toggle this to Enable once you're ready, then click the “Save” button to activate the whitelist rule.
Rule Summary: This provides a brief overview of your current whitelist rule so you can confirm it’s set up correctly.
Your selected countries are now exempt from any redirect rules you’ve set. This gives you fine-tuned control over redirection behavior — without having to remove or modify your global rules.
