How to exclude main pages or collections from being protected by NoSpy

Updated over a week ago

The Exclusions feature in NoSpy allows you to choose specific pages or collections that should not be protected by the app.
This is especially helpful if you want to keep certain sections publicly accessible, such as:

  • Login or account pages

  • Important landing pages

  • Public collections

  • External URLs you don’t want NoSpy to block or protect

This ensures your customers can access essential pages without being restricted by NoSpy’s protection rules.

To set up your exclusions, please follow the steps below:

1. Navigate to your Shopify admin dashboard

Open your Shopify store and click on the “Apps” option from the left sidebar menu.

2. From the apps list, select the “NoSpy – Protect Data” app

Click the NoSpy app to open the main dashboard.

3. You will find this under the Settings section on the left side of the page.

Under the app section, you will see the NoSpy app main sidebar menu.

4. On the sidebar menu, click on the “Settings” option.

5. On the next page, you will see a list of settings to configure.

Navigate to the "Exclusions" tab, and complete the fields provided.

6. You will now see the Exclusions panel

This section allows you to exclude Collections, Pages, or External URLs from protection.

7. Excluding Collections

Under Collections, click the field labeled “Select Collections”.
A dropdown will appear where you can search for and select any collection you want to exclude.

Examples:

  • /collections/all

  • /collections/sale

  • /collections/new-arrivals

Selecting a collection will prevent NoSpy features (content protection, redirect rules, anti-spy blocking, etc.) from applying to that section.

8. Excluding Shopify Pages

Under Pages, click the Search field.
You can type the page name to locate it quickly or select the page by clicking the checkbox provided.

Examples of pages you might want to exclude:

  • Login page

  • Contact page

  • Account pages

  • Custom landing pages

Once selected, these pages will remain unprotected and accessible to all visitors.

9. Excluding an External URL

If you want to exclude a custom URL, use the External URL field.
Here, you can enter a path beginning with /, for example:

  • /apps/nospy

  • /tools/custom-page

  • /community

This is useful if you have embedded tools or third-party pages that should remain unrestricted.
