How can you know what kind of upsells Vanga shows to your customers if you don't set them up? With the new Offer History feature!

View the upsells Vanga displays and how your customers react to them. Now you can monitor your entire upsell performance and the upsells your customers accept or decline by viewing the new Offer History tab.

  • Order - the order ID in your Shopify store

  • Offer - the upsell(s) your customer has been offered

  • Status - see whether the upsell is In progress, Seen, Purchased, or Ineligible

  • Type - see if the upsell is from Vanga's AI (Automatic) or created by you (Manual)

  • Upsell Revenue - the revenue you earned from the successful upsell(s)

To take a deeper look into the customer journey of each order, simply open the order you want to see.

  • Customer journey - view the whole process in detail and preview the upsells your customers saw

  • Order items - contains information about the main order and the post-purchase upsells ordered on checkout. In order to view the order in the Shopify platform, just click on the View order in Shopify button above this section

  • App billing - shows the upsell credits deducted for this order from the total upsell commission credits in the app

Let's go through each status and look at the differences.

Offer with status In progress

If an offer has a status In progress this means that the offer has been shown to the shopper but the customer still has the upsell offer window opened and it is not finalized.

Offer with status Seen

If an offer has a status Seen this means that the offer has been shown to the shopper, but wasn't purchased. This could happen because of a few reasons:

  • The offer timed out because the customer didn't take any action - the time a customer has to respond to an offer is 1 hour. Then, if no action is taken, they are automatically redirected to the Thank you page.

  • The offer was declined by the customer

  • The payment failed - in this case, the following message is displayed in the offer history “Customer charge for upsells failed. No upsells were added to the order".

Offer with status Purchased

If an offer has a status Purchased, it simply means that it is successful and all offers have been purchased.

Offer with status Ineligible

If an offer has a status Ineligible, it means that no offer has been shown to the shopper due to one of the following possible reasons:

  • Payment method is not supported - Shopify has some limitations regarding the payment methods and the possibilities to show an upsell. You can find all unsupported payment methods in 👉🏻 this article.

  • Vanga is not enabled in the Shopify platform - if the Vanga app is not selected as a post-purchase page for the store from the Shopify platform > Settings > Checkout > Post Purchase Page > Vanga AI - Upsell assistant

  • Sales channel not supported - If the main order on checkout doesn't contain any shipping details (e.g. the purchased product is a digital one)

  • Commission limit reached - if you've reached your upsell credits, then the upsells will stop working

  • When a multi-currency application is used on the store - the post-purchase upsell offers won't be surfaced on orders with multiple currencies. This again is a limitation that Shopify mentions in 👉🏻 their article.

Automatic vs Manual Type

In the Type section, you can see if the upsell offer has been automatic or manual.
If the upsell is manual, you will have the Edit offer option in the Customer journey section where you could add your changes directly to the offer in order to improve its performance even more.
