Welcome to Vanga!

This article is an introduction to your new autopilot app for post-purchase upsells.

What does Vanga do?
Vanga lets your Shopify store upsell products after a customer makes a purchase. This way you increase the value of each order and bring more income into your store. You have two ways to enable your post-purchase upsell strategy - automatic and manual.

The main purpose of Vanga is to automate your upsells so you don’t have to create your post-purchase offers manually. This means that if you installed Vanga in your Shopify store, then you have already started.

Automatic upsells
The algorithm is enabled from the moment the app is installed in your store, so your post-purchase upsells are already active if your installation is complete.

You can learn how the algorithm works here.

Manual upsells
The manual mode of the post-purchase upsells requires you to create the offers yourself. Post-purchase upsells are products suggested at checkout, so you need to configure the products that will trigger them when they get purchased.

You can learn how to create manual upsells here.

Performance
You will notice that the user interface of Vanga is fairly simple. The dashboard will show you the performance of your post-purchase upsells as they start to get displayed on each order your Shopify store generates.

Right now, you can see the revenue generated by your post-purchase upsells and the average conversion rate of all the offers displayed by Vanga. This is the data collected for the performance of both automatic and manual upsells.

Autopilot status
The AI-driven algorithm in Vanga constantly learns by testing different product combinations. To give your store the optimal results, we’ve defined three different epochs during which the algorithm evolves.

The status of your autopilot changes as your algorithm keeps learning based on the number of upsells that were successful. There are three main epochs for the algorithm:

Learning epoch: 0 - 100 successful upsells
Vanga is calibrating for the best upsells. Until you get 100 upsell purchases, Vanga will run different tests to understand what are the best products to upsell to different customers & cart compositions.

Optimization epoch: 100 - 1000 successful upsells
Vanga has reached 100+ successful upsells. Based on its data, it can now predict what products are good upsell candidates and what aren't. However, there's still room for further improvement.

Enhancing epoch: 1000+ successful upsells
Vanga has reached 1000+ successful upsells. Based on its data, it's now confident in the best products to upsell. Still, customers evolve with time and Vanga continues to learn.
